Attorney Julie H. Nommensen

Primary Practice Areas: Elder Law & Medicaid, Estate Planning, Wills & Trusts, Probate, Guardianships, Real Estate Transactions

Attorney Julie H. Nommensen joined her father in the practice of law in 2008. Julie is an Elkhorn native and always had aspirations of following in her father’s footsteps. Julie’s passion is serving the elderly and disabled, and those who care for them.  She counsels families regarding Medicaid/Title 19 and how to plan for potential future nursing home care.  In addition, she is experienced in the area of Guardianships, Wills/Trusts/Estate Planning (including special needs trusts for disabled individuals), Estate/Trust administrations, and Real Estate transactions.

Ms. Nommensen graduated with honors (magna cum laude) from Northern Illinois College of Law in May 2008. While in law school, Julie spent her summer interning under Judge Carlson of the Walworth County Circuit Court.  This experience gave her valuable insight into the court system from the inside.  During her last year at Northern Illinois, Ms. Nommensen volunteered at the Zeke Giorgi Legal Clinic in Rockford, Illinois, where she represented low-income elderly clients in need of legal services.  It was this experience that led her to pursue elder law as a concentration.

Julie obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration degree at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. She graduated magna cum laude with a double major in Finance and Marketing. She also played on the women’s basketball team at Whitewater, a hobby which she still avidly enjoys.

Julie is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), the Elder Law Section of the Wisconsin State Bar, and the Real Estate, Probate, & Trust Law Section of the Wisconsin State Bar.
